Seven years ago, David Long came to a crossroads in his professional career. He was working at a national firm, and the direction was not what he desired most. He missed the real client relationships. He missed making a difference.
When David met the team at MGA and saw how they do things differently, he told us that it was a no-brainer for him to jump on board. MGA was looking for someone to help grow their Assurance Department. David was looking for a Firm that shared his client relationship values. It was a perfect match.
### **Real Client Relationships: Why David Left a National Firm for MGA**
MGA brought David back to his roots. He works closely with his clients as the Director of Assurance Services and helps them solve their complex problems. He makes a difference first hand, every time.
Working with a national firm is an entirely different experience, David explains. When you’re dealing with such large clients, you don’t have that personal touch. Those clients are not asking for your advice or help. You simply get the work done, and you move on. David knew that he wanted to deliver more than just numbers to his clients, which is why he began looking for new opportunities.
When we asked David why he has decided to stay with MGA after all of these years, his answer was simple. "The partners here at MGA are true to their word. They sell MGA as something different, and they remain true to that. I see it every day in the way they operate — both internally and externally."
### **MGA Supports David as He Makes a Difference Outside of Work Too**
Shortly after coming on board with MGA, David’s son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. As they adjusted to their new normal, David tells us about the great support he received from the entire team at MGA.
"I was eager and excited to join the MGA team and start building a career that I loved again, but I didn't expect the close-knit work community that came along with that. Everyone at MGA genuinely cares about each other and is there to support you along the way as life happens."
David is involved in the board of JDRF, the leading global organization funding T1D research. Friends and co-workers have helped David raise money to make a difference. Some donate directly to the organization, while others actively participate in walks and other fundraisers. Either way, David sees the MGA team show up to provide support, time and time again.
