Brian Miller Focuses on Keeping MGA Here for Many Years to Come

My grandfather is an accountant. My father is an accountant. When I enrolled at the University of Texas, my area of focus might as well have been auto-populated. After graduating, I went to work at a Big 4 Firm. It was a great way to get exposure to tried and true processes and procedures, but I quickly learned it was not for me. 

I did my time, and I came to interview with the ‘Grossbard’ partner, not the ‘Miller’ partner. Starting as a staff accountant at Miller Grossbard Advisors, I got exposure from a small Firm perspective. It was about relationships. It was about trust. It was about what I wanted — to make a difference. To be more than a Houston accountant but to be a Firm that made a difference in the lives of our clients.

With 2018 marking 15 years at MGA, I’m excited to be a Partner in a Firm that is truly different. I get to forge client relationships where they value collaboration, and I feel like I’m a part of their team. They call me for questions, big and small, knowing we’ll have the answer, or we’ll go and get it! 

Artificial intelligence, tax reform, cloud — bring it on! You’ll never hear me refer to us as an ‘accounting firm’ as I think it does no justice. Give me 30-minutes to share a cup of coffee (or a bourbon) and chat with you, and you’ll feel the same way.
