MGA Celebrates 30 Years by Giving Back to the Community That Has Given So Much to Us

We are excited to celebrate our 30th anniversary this month, and we couldn’t think of a better way to do that than to give back to the community that has given so much to us. 

To do that, we’ve partnered with Ronald McDonald House Houston, whose mission for 40+ years has been to offer a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions.

Their “Holcombe House” provides that physical home away from home for those families in need. It has 70 private bedrooms along with 24-hour staffing, Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, indoor and outdoor play areas, community kitchens, and gated garage parking. Dedicated volunteers provide frequent meals and family activities for residents of the House. The House also has a Houston Independent School District school room for patients and school bus transportation for siblings. Additionally, families staying at Holcombe House are provided weekday van service to Texas Medical Center hospitals, taking another logistical challenge off their plates.

Needless to say, it takes a lot to keep this amazing center of care operating. We are excited to support this important mission by providing 30 days of operating costs for the Holcombe House along with keeping their communal kitchen stocked for 30 days to celebrate our 30th year.

When families check into the Holcombe House, their life is a blur of doctor’s offices, waiting rooms, test results, travel arrangements, etc. So when RMH Houston is able to offer them a clean, safe, private bedroom and a warm, complimentary meal, not only are they extremely grateful, but also relieved to have one less detail to arrange for their family. Our generous donation will go toward providing this sense of relief for those families in need — a mission close to our hearts.

Along with giving back to the community, we are having a lively team celebration this week with food trucks and cocktail trucks, followed by an afternoon off for all of our hard-working and dedicated team members. It’s been a busy year for us, and we are excited to celebrate our significant milestone together as a team.
