After almost seven years of working side-by-side with John Leggett, MGA has enjoyed being a part of his success story.
We would consider John a serial entrepreneur, always setting out to do things differently, to do things better. He currently has a number of different entities and different real estate ventures that he works with MGA on. From residential homebuilding to title companies and various investment entities, he has expanded his entrepreneurial portfolio and manages a variety of businesses.

While MGA handles 100% of tax-related items for John and his many companies, he states, “they’re a lot more than just taxes to us.”
John was referred to Brian and the MGA team seven years ago, and he’s stated that Brian has been instrumental in guidance and tax consulting since day one. Our Technology Consulting Services are taking John’s companies to new heights.
Here at MGA, we recently expanded with the creation of a Technology and Strategic Consulting (T.A.S.C.) group that is recommended for clients who are not necessarily looking to outsource their accounting functions but are seeking strategic counseling on their accounting processes and technology tools.
John uses this service to help his team implement various technologies around their businesses that have been instrumental in cutting down time, reducing mistakes, and creating checks and balances.
QuickBooks Online is an easy example of something John and his team were already using. After our recommendation, they implemented Receipt Bank, a third-party software that does receipt matching, to improve the credit card reconciliation process. This is just one small example of how we are working with John and his accounting team to employ efficiencies. Here’s John’s take on what our T.A.S.C. group does for him:
“Instead of having to beta test new software and programs ourselves, MGA has a group doing the leg work for us, which is fantastic! We used to do exactly what they’re doing — spend time and resources testing different solutions to find out which ones work best. Because it wasn’t our day job, we were never the best at deciphering what worked, what didn’t, and how best to move forward. Now we hire MGA to figure it out for us and bring them in to quickly implement a solution. We’ve got somebody to go to who can answer all the questions, and they often bring us new products we would never have found on our own.”
